    A reverie is a pleasant kind of . Your body is still in the room, but your mind has drifted off into pictures and thoughts you like — a holiday, a song, a life you wish you had. People fall into a reverie or get lost in reverie. It is a rather pretty, word; friends would usually just say they were . Though actually, a reverie is not always happy. The French word it comes from simply means dreaming, so the mood can also be far-away or a little sad. It is not a plan, and it is not sleep: you are awake, just not quite here.
