Reuters is a British news company. It pays journalists in many countries to gather news, then sells those reports to newspapers, radio, and television, so the same Reuters story can appear in many places at once with the name Reuters on it. It is named after Paul Julius Reuter, who started the service. Today the bigger company is often called Thomson Reuters, but in news you still see the short name Reuters. It is a proper name, always with a capital R. People say “according to Reuters” to show the news came from a big agency, not from a random post. In Taiwan everyone knows the Chinese name first.
