To respray something is to put a new coat of paint on it with a spray, almost always a car, van, or . People do it to change the colour, to hide rust or scratches, or to make an old vehicle look new. You can respray the whole body or just one panel after a bump. It is also a noun: the job itself is a respray. This is garage talk, not a fancy word, and it is not the word for walls or furniture — those you repaint. It is also not a quick squirt of water or perfume; a respray is a proper paint job.
