Resonance, in sound, is a rich, full, echoing quality — a resonant voice or a resonant note in music sounds deep and seems to fill the space. In physics, resonance is when one thing makes another nearby thing too, at the same rate, which can make a sound much louder or, in serious cases, even shake a structure . Beyond sound, "resonance" describes an idea or message that connects deeply with people's feelings or experience — "the song's lyrics had a real resonance with fans going through a breakup."
