1. 1

When you reprocess a waste substance, you put it through a treatment so it can be used again. Factories reprocess plastic, glass, and metal; some countries also reprocess used nuclear fuel. This is a technical word. At home people say recycle. Recycle can mean “put it in the right bin” or “make it into something new.” Reprocess points at the factory work itself — the treating. You will meet it in news about waste, energy, and industry. Though actually, offices also talk about reprocessing data, meaning they run the same information through a program again. That stretch is real, but the core picture is still waste being treated so it is useful once more.

    再處理、回收再製(工廠、核廢料新聞常用;日常丟瓶罐多說「回收」)
