- 1依賴、仰賴
To rely on someone or something means to depend on them, trusting that they will help you or that things will work the way you expect. You almost always need 'on' after it — 'rely on', not just 'rely'. It works for people ('I rely on my sister for advice') and for things ('This machine relies on electricity').
rely on 的意思是依賴，相信對方會幫你，或相信某樣東西會照你預期的方式運作。這個動詞後面幾乎一定要接 on，要說成 rely on，不能只說 rely。
它可以用在人身上，像是「I rely on my sister for advice」，這裡是靠姊姊給意見。也可以用在東西上，像是「This machine relies on electricity」，這台機器要靠電才能運作。
