    If you reiterate a statement or an opinion, you say it again, on purpose, so that nobody can miss what you mean. A leader reiterates a promise. A teacher reiterates a rule. The word is more formal than say again, and you hear it in speeches, meetings, and news: a speaker will reiterate that the hospital will stay open. Though actually, it can sound a little heavy, even a little impatient — as if the speaker thinks people did not listen the first time. It does not mean you add new facts. It means you bring the same point back, more clearly. Students sometimes reach for it in a message to a friend, where just to be clear would sound more natural. The old Latin is almost funny: re- already means again, and iterare already means to repeat, from iterum, again — so the word is built with again twice.
