Reflexology is a kind of alternative medicine: someone presses or rubs areas of the feet (sometimes the hands) and claims this can help trouble in other parts of the body. The idea is that spots on the foot 'map' to organs and systems, so a sore shoulder might be treated by working a particular place on the foot. Many people find it relaxing; whether it really is something doctors and believers do not agree on, and you should say so if a student asks. It is a health-and-spa word, a little technical because of the -ology ending. Though actually, a shop that offers 'foot massage' may or may not be doing this mapped system — the two get mixed up in everyday talk.
