Reconstructed describes something that has been built again, or put back together, after it was damaged, destroyed, or taken apart. It's used for real physical things — a reconstructed building after a fire or war — and also for putting together an idea of something that happened, piece by piece, the way detectives or historians do (police reconstructed the accident from the evidence; historians reconstructed the ancient city from old records).
