    Recognizable describes something, or someone, that is easy to identify or notice, usually because you've seen it before or because it has clear, familiar features. A celebrity might be instantly recognizable just from their voice; a song might be recognizable from its first few notes; a place can become unrecognizable after it changes a lot ("the town was unrecognizable after the storm").

    • Pidgin is a combination of expressions and phrases that are recognizable to those who speak it. To non-Pidgin speakers, it may sound like slang. For example, “dat” means that and “fadda” means father or dad.
