'Readable' has two everyday meanings. First, it describes writing that is clear enough to read without trouble, like readable handwriting or a readable font size. Second, when talking about a book or article, 'readable' means it's enjoyable and easy to get through — not boring or overly difficult — so 'a very readable novel' is one people actually enjoy reading.
