The RCM is the Royal College of Music, a famous music school in London. Students go there to study the piano, the violin, singing, and the rest, at a very high level. People say the RCM as a place-name, the way they say the RCA for art. Though actually, the two schools are neighbours in spirit only: one is for art, one is for music, and mixing the letters is an easy slip. If someone studied at the RCM, they studied music, not painting.
