RC is the written short form of Roman Catholic: the Christian church that looks to the Pope in Rome. You see it on forms (religion: RC) and in school names, especially in Britain and Ireland, such as an RC primary school. People also once said he is an RC, meaning he is a Catholic; that sounds a little old now. In everyday talk, Catholic by itself usually means this same church. Though actually, RC is a label on paper more than a word people say out loud. If you are speaking, say Catholic.
