Rambling describes talking or writing that goes on too long and jumps from topic to topic without a clear point — a rambling speech is hard to follow because the speaker keeps wandering off track. There's also a completely different, more positive meaning in British English: "rambling" is the activity of walking for pleasure in the countryside, often for a long time, and a "rambler" is someone who enjoys this kind of walk. A "rambling house" is also a phrase for a large, old house that spreads out in an irregular way, with rooms added over time.
