    Radiology is the part of medicine that studies and uses radiation and medical images. In a hospital, “radiology” is often the department on the sign when you go for an X-ray or a scan. The field covers taking pictures, reading pictures, and sometimes treating people with radiation or with tools guided by pictures. It has nothing to do with a radio that plays music. Everyday patients say “X-ray” or “the scan”; doctors and signs say radiology.
