Quorn is a food you can cook instead of meat. It is a brand name, like a company label on the packet, and in Britain people often say Quorn the way they say the food itself. You can fry it, put it in a stew or a stir-fry, or use it in place of mince or chicken pieces. People call it vegetable meat or plant meat, though actually it is not chopped vegetables: it is made from protein grown from a fungus. The name does not describe the food. It comes from an English village, and the company borrowed that name. A fox hunt and a town in Australia share the same place-name too. In Taiwan you will more often see 素肉 or 植物肉 on a menu; Quorn is the British brand some packets still carry.
