Puerility is the noun for being puerile: childish silliness that feels stupid or unworthy in a grown person. Same sharp tone as the adjective, but even more like a word from a book. You might accuse a piece of writing, a political show, or a grown person’s behaviour of puerility. You would almost never say it about a toddler, who is supposed to be a child. Though actually, the tidy dictionary line “silly and stupid” hides the Latin classroom flavour: this is not playground language.
