A proselytizer is the person who tries to pull others into a religion, a party, or a cause — and the word is not a compliment. It names the of that frowned-upon persuading. A missionary or a might be doing similar work, but those words can sound neutral or even proud; proselytizer almost always sounds like a complaint.
