In grammar lists and dictionaries, pron. is the written short form of pronoun — the little words that stand in for a noun, like she, they, it, or mine. You see it in the small print beside a , the way you see n. for noun or v. for verb. Say “pronoun” out loud; write pron. when you are only labelling. Though actually, some older notes also use pron. for pronunciation, which is a different thing entirely. In this entry it only means pronoun.
