Professionalism is the way someone behaves at work that shows they take their job seriously and do it well — being on time, keeping promises, staying calm under pressure, treating people and fairly, and doing careful, honest work even when nobody's checking. It's less about your JOB TITLE and more about your ATTITUDE — a student helping at a part-time job can show great professionalism, while someone with a fancy title can show very little. Bosses and coworkers use this word a lot in feedback, both as praise ('she handled that with real professionalism') and as a gentle complaint ('a little more professionalism would help').
