The word is mainly British, and it is getting old; younger people say journalist or reporter. You still hear it in phrases like a crowd of pressmen waiting outside a court. Though actually, the same spelling also names a person who runs a printing press, which is a completely different job — ink and machines, not interviews. And the -man ending leaves women out, which is one reason the word is .
