Poxy is a small, sour British word for "I do not like this, and I do not think it is big or worth much." If someone says "this poxy computer" or "a poxy little room," they are not giving a careful review — they are brushing the thing aside, as if it is a nuisance. It often sits next to little: a poxy little job, a poxy little pay rise. The feeling is close to lousy or measly: both "this is bad" and "this is too small to matter." Though actually, this is not a word most American speakers use, and it is too informal (and a bit rude) for school writing or a job email. Older British speakers use it more than textbooks admit. It is complaint-talk, not a medical report.
