A Post-it is a small square of coloured paper with a light strip of glue on the back, so it sticks to a wall, a fridge, or a page, and comes off again without tearing. People leave reminders on them. Though actually, Post-it is a brand name, from the company 3M; it has become the everyday word in English, the way some people say for any tissue. In a shop you may still see the brand; in ordinary talk any little sticky note gets called a Post-it. The glue is meant to be weak on purpose — that is the whole trick.
