Porcine means “of a pig” or “like a pig.” In science and farming, a porcine virus or porcine cells are ones that come from pigs. Writers sometimes use it about a person’s face or body: a porcine look is round, heavy, and pig-like. That second use is not kind; it is usually an insult wearing a fancy coat. Ordinary people almost never say porcine. They say pig for the animal and pork for the meat. You will meet this word in biology, veterinary papers, and rather literary English — not in the night market.
