If you are pooped, you are very tired. It is informal American, mostly spoken, for home and friends: I'm pooped; we were pooped after the hike. People also say pooped out. You would not put it in a job letter. British speakers more often say knackered or shattered for the same feeling. Though actually, the same spelling is the past of poop, a toilet word, so the tired meaning can make children . That other use is not this one; here it only means worn out.

組成Probably from the informal verb phrase poop out, meaning to become too tired to go on. I am not sure of a deeper origin.
