A polyclinic is a large medical building where many kinds of care sit under one roof — a doctor for the skin, a dentist, blood tests, X-rays — but you do not sleep there. You come, you are seen, you go home. It is not a hospital ward. The idea is “many clinics together.” You meet the word more in some countries’ health systems, and in older British English, than in everyday American English, where people are more likely to say outpatient clinic or medical center. Though actually, the line can be soft: a big hospital’s day-only wing does the same job, and people may still call the whole place a hospital.
