    Pollock is a type of fish that lives in cold ocean water, related to cod. It has a mild taste and firm white flesh, so it's used a lot in cheap fish products - fish fingers, fast-food fish sandwiches, and crab meat are often made from pollock. It's one of the most commonly caught fish in the world, even though most people eat it without ever seeing the whole fish, only in these processed forms.
