    Polarization is the noun for the split: people dividing into clearly separate groups with opposite beliefs, ideas, or opinions, or being pushed into that split. News and use it all the time — the polarization of a country, of voters, of a family argument that no longer has a middle. The verb is (American) or (British). This entry is the people-splitting sense; light and magnets also have a scientific kind of polarization, but that is another meaning. The British spelling of this noun is polarisation. The word feels at home in newspapers and essays, a little heavy for casual chat.

組成Borrowed from French polarisation. On the surface: polarize + -ation, or polar + -ization.
