    Something plumed is with feathers. A plumed helmet has a spray of feathers on top; a plumed hat is the kind you see in old pictures and on some parade uniforms. Writers also use it of birds when they want the feathers to feel like dress, not just covering. It is a rather , picture-book word: you meet it in stories and careful descriptions more than in shops or daily talk.
