The Plantagenets were a royal family that ruled England in the Middle Ages. often date the main line from 1154, when Henry II became king, to 1399, when Richard II lost the throne. Henry II and Richard II belong in that stretch. People still call the whole clan Plantagenets. The name is a history-book word. You will see it in museums and textbooks, not in daily talk.
