    The pinhead is the tiny round top of a pin — the bit you press with your finger so the sharp end goes into cloth or a board. It is extremely small, so people say something is “the size of a pinhead” when they mean it is almost too small to see. The word is quiet and practical: , , crafts. Though actually, you will also hear pinhead as a rude name for someone a speaker thinks is stupid; that use grew from the “tiny brain” joke, but this note is about the real object on the pin.
