    Pince-nez are old glasses with no arms to go over the ears. A small spring pinches the nose, and that is what holds them on. People wore them in the late 1800s and early 1900s. You might see them in an old photograph or a period film; nobody buys them as everyday glasses now. The word feels a little fancy because it stayed in French. In casual talk people might just say "those old glasses that clip onto the nose."
