A pimple is a small, raised red spot on the skin, especially on the face. It often has a white or yellow head of pus in the middle. Teenagers get them a lot when oil and dead skin block a pore; that whole condition is called acne, and the pimples are the single spots. British speakers also say spot; American speakers also say zit, which is more slangy. Pimple is ordinary, slightly informal, and a little unkind if you point at someone else's. You can use it as a verb, usually to say a face is pimpled, but the noun is far more common. People sometimes stretch it for any small annoying bump, even on a thing that is not skin, but the real home of the word is the face.
