Picture-perfect means looking or turning out exactly right — so right it could be a photo in a magazine. A picture-perfect garden has every flower in place; a picture-perfect day is blue sky and no trouble. People stretch it past looks: a picture-perfect wedding, a picture-perfect family, even, as a joke, a picture-perfect crime, meaning it went exactly as planned. It feels mainly American; British speakers might say a view is picture-postcard, or just say perfect. Magazines and ads love it. Though actually it can sound a little too tidy, as if the thing is a photo and not real life. It is warm, a bit glossy, and not a hard or angry word.
