Physiology is the science of how living bodies actually work - how your heart pumps blood, how your lungs take in air, how your muscles move. It's different from anatomy, which is about the parts and shapes of the body; physiology is about the functions, the 'how it works' part. Medical students, nurses, and biology students all study physiology as a core subject.
