Phantasy is an old spelling of fantasy. It means a picture in the mind that is not real — a , a made-up story, or a wish dressed up as a scene. Most people now write fantasy, especially for books and films about magic. You will still see phantasy in older pages, and a few careful writers once kept the ph- spelling for the mind’s inner pictures, while using fantasy for stories and play.
