Perv is a short, informal word for a pervert: someone whose sexual interest in other people feels wrong, creepy, or not wanted. People use it as a noun — “He’s a perv.” In some places, especially Britain and Australia, they also use it as a verb: to perv on someone is to look at them in a sexual way they did not ask for. It is slang, often rude, and it works more as an insult than as a careful description. Keep it out of essays and away from people you do not know well. It is not the same as perverse, which is about doing the opposite of what others want.
