A percolator is a special coffee pot. Water heats, rises through a tube, and falls back down through the coffee again and again until the drink is strong. You can hear it bubbling. It was once very common in American kitchens; often had one on the stove. Though actually, it is not a moka pot (the little Italian stove-top pot), and it is not a drip machine. Coffee from a percolator can turn bitter if it keeps running too long. In Taiwan you see them less often than drip machines or pour-over kits, so the English word is useful: the Chinese name is not something everyone says every day.
滲濾式咖啡壺(不是摩卡壺,也不是美式滴濾機)
組成percolate (to filter through slowly, again and again) + -or (the thing that does it). From percolate + -or.
