Pelvic is the adjective that belongs with pelvis. If something is pelvic, it is in that bowl of bone at the bottom of your trunk, or it has to do with it. Doctors talk about pelvic pain, a pelvic exam, the pelvic floor — the sling of muscle that holds organs up inside. You will meet it in biology and at the clinic far more than in chat. It is a calm, technical word: nobody says it to sound fancy; they say it because they need the exact place.
