A peccadillo is a small bad thing someone does — a little sin, not a big crime. People use it most when the “bad thing” is about sex or desire: a short affair, a wandering eye, a night they should not have had. The point of the word is that the speaker does not treat it as very serious. It is a bit old-fashioned and a bit playful; you will meet it in newspapers and novels more than in everyday talk. Though actually, calling something a peccadillo can also be a way to make a real hurt sound small, so listen for who is using it and why.
