Paranoia is a feeling that other people are watching you, talking about you, or planning to hurt you — even when this is not really true. A person can feel a little paranoid sometimes, like worrying that friends are secretly angry with them. It can also be a serious mental health condition, where someone strongly and believes people are against them. In everyday talk, people often use the word more loosely, just to mean 'feeling too worried and suspicious.'
