A Palmcorder is a small video camera you can hold in one hand. The name began as a Panasonic brand: they joined palm (the inside of the hand) with camcorder (a camera that also records). In the 1990s and early 2000s, families packed cameras like this for holidays and school plays. Though actually, almost nobody buys a Palmcorder now. People film on a phone, or they just say camera or camcorder. Palmcorder is a product name that leaked into ordinary speech for a while, the way some brand names do. You will meet it in old , manuals, and stories from that time more than in new English. When you mean the brand, keep the capital P.
掌上型攝影機。Panasonic 的商標;台灣當年比較常說「DV」或「攝影機」,較少把 Palmcorder 當普通名詞用。
