A pagan is someone who does not follow one of the main world religions, like Christianity, Islam, or Judaism — the word was first used, often , by Christians to describe older nature-based religions that existed before Christianity spread, like the old religions of Rome or Northern Europe. Today, some people also use 'pagan' proudly for themselves, to describe modern nature-based spiritual beliefs. As an adjective, 'pagan' describes anything connected to these older or nature-based beliefs, like a 'pagan festival'.
異教徒;異教的
組成來自拉丁文 paganus,原意可能是「鄉下人、平民」,後來才慢慢變成「不信基督教的人」的意思。
