"Overload" means to put too much of something into or onto something else - more than it can safely hold or handle. You can overload an electrical socket by plugging in too many devices, which can be dangerous. It is also used for people: "information overload" is the feeling of having too much information to think about at once, and someone can feel "overloaded" with work when they have too many tasks at the same time.
