Overgrown describes a place, like a garden or a path, that is covered with plants that have grown too much and too wild because nobody has been taking care of it - full of tall weeds and messy bushes. It can also describe a person or thing that has grown bigger than is normal or expected, sometimes in a slightly funny or unflattering way - 'he's just an overgrown kid,' meaning he acts childish even though he's big.
