Orthopedic describes medicine or equipment related to bones, joints, and muscles. An orthopedic doctor (an orthopedist) treats things like broken bones, bad backs, and knee problems. Orthopedic shoes or pillows are shaped in a special way to support your body correctly, often to fix or prevent pain.
