    Orly is one of the two big airports that serve Paris. The other is Charles de Gaulle, farther north; Orly sits south of the city and has long been the closer, older one — used a lot for flights inside France and around Europe, though actually it takes plenty of other too, and which airport you land at is often just about the ticket. When someone says they are flying into Orly, they mean that airport, not a person. You will see it on boarding passes as ORY. The name is the French town of Orly, from an old Latin place name, Aureliacum.
