Ordure is a rather old, rather word for dirt — and especially for the waste that comes from the body, what everyday English calls dung, muck, or a ruder word. You will meet it in older books and in careful writing that does not want a street word, and almost never in ordinary talk. In that same voice it can also mean moral filth: the ugly side of how people behave. Though actually, if you say this to someone in a shop they may not know it at all; dirt, mess, or a plainer word is what people really say.

組成From Middle English, borrowed from Old French ordure (dirt, dung, moral filth), from ord “filthy” + -ure. Ord comes from Latin horridus, “dreadful, horrid”.
