Orbital describes anything related to an orbit — the curved path an object like a planet, moon, or satellite follows as it circles around something bigger. 'Orbital speed' is how fast something moves along that path. In British English specifically, 'orbital' also names a big road that circles all the way around a city instead of going through the middle — London's ring road is officially called the M25 but is nicknamed 'the London Orbital.' In chemistry, an 'orbital' is the space around an atom's nucleus where an electron is likely to be found.
