    Oleaginous means : full of oil, giving oil, or like oil to the touch. Science and farm writing use it for plants and seeds we press for oil. People also use it about a person who is too smooth — the smile and the praise feel slippery, as if the person is covering you in oil. That second use is not kind; it says the sweetness is fake. The word is for careful writing. In everyday talk, or greasy does the job, and for a person, slimy is the blunt word. Though actually, in stories, the “ person” sense may be the one you meet first.
